Feldenkrais® Method

Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais® Method (fel-DEN-krice) is an educational approach to movement and awareness developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais.


Rather than focusing on fixing, stretching, or correcting the body, Feldenkrais works through gentle movement and attention to help the nervous system learn more efficient, comfortable, and adaptable ways of moving.


The method is based on the idea that how we move is closely connected to how we feel, think, and respond to life and that small, curious changes can lead to meaningful shifts over time.


The Feldenkrais Method is offered in two forms. 


  1. Awareness Through Movement® lessons are taught in a group setting and are guided verbally, inviting participants to explore gentle movement sequences at their own pace. 
  2. Functional Integration® sessions are one-on-one lessons in which the fully clothed client is guided through touch, movement, and verbal instruction to support improved organization, comfort, and awareness.


Movements are gentle, slow, and non-invasive, with an emphasis on curiosity rather than effort. Sessions are designed to be calming, supportive, and accessible to a wide range of bodies and abilities.
