Hello, and thank you for being here.
I have been a bodyworker for over 20 years, supporting people through touch, movement, and awareness-based practices. My background is in music—I completed my master’s degree where I studied piano performance and music education at Northwestern University—and I often credit my years at the piano with developing the sensitivity, listening skills, and refined touch that now inform my work as a manual therapist.
Alongside my musical training, my approach is grounded in a strong academic foundation in the movement and health sciences, including extensive coursework in anatomy and physiology, chemistry, mathematics, and hands-on cadaver dissection. I was accepted into a top-ranked occupational therapy program at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007 and completed extensive physical therapy observation hours, including clinical experience at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, before ultimately choosing a more hands-on, somatic path.
My path into bodywork grew from both professional curiosity and lived experience, ultimately leading me to massage therapy and later to the Feldenkrais® Method. Over the years, I have found my calling in fascia-focused, trauma-informed, and somatically oriented approaches that honor the whole person—body, mind, and lived context.
I work with people of all ages and backgrounds, from young athletes to older adults, and I specialize in fascia-based manual therapy that adapts moment by moment to what each body needs. My touch ranges from gentle and subtle to firm and specific, guided by careful listening rather than a one-size-fits-all technique. I don’t subscribe to a single modality; instead, I draw from a broad toolkit, much like a chef selecting the right ingredients for each dish.
My work is particularly supportive for those experiencing chronic tension, pain, or conditions related to stress, injury, or overuse. I’m deeply interested in how physical healing and somatic education work together—supporting not only tissue change, but also greater awareness, agency, and nervous system resilience over time.
I have advanced training in Active Release Technique® (ART®), Myofascial Release® (MFR®), Structural Integration, Orthopedic and Medical Massage, CranioSacral Therapy (CST), and the Feldenkrais® Method, among others. These trainings inform my work, but do not limit it.
Equity and access are important values in my practice. I reserve a limited number of pro bono or reduced-fee sessions for those with financial barriers and am especially drawn to working with complex or persistent conditions that have not responded well to previous approaches. I believe deeply in the power of attentive, present touch—and that everyone deserves care.
Outside the office, I enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, backpacking, cooking, and drawing, as well as spending time with my husband, stepdaughters, family, friends, and our two corgis, Latte and Ato (Macchiato), named after our late corgi, Mocha. I’m also passionate about creating spaces to explore and connect with the Asian diaspora.
