A 10-Week Series of Feldenkrais® Awareness through Movement® Lessons

Time: Fridays at 4:30 pm 

10 consecutive weeks from Friday, February 13, 2026 to Friday, April 17, 2026


Class Length: Approximately 45-60 Minutes

ABOUT THE SERIES

This series is designed to help you move with less effort, greater coordination, and increased comfort in everyday life.


Through gentle, guided movement explorations, you’ll be invited to notice how you move, discover new options, and develop greater ease and clarity in your body. The emphasis is not on stretching, fixing, or performing, but on learning — at your own pace — how movement can become more efficient, comfortable, and adaptable.


This series is cumulative, with each class building on the last, supporting deeper awareness and integration over time

WHO IS THIS SERIES FOR?

This series is well suited for people who:


  • Want to move with greater ease and less unnecessary effort
     
  • Experience stiffness, discomfort, or fatigue with daily activities
     
  • Are curious about improving posture, balance, or coordination
     
  • Spend long hours sitting, working at a computer, or performing repetitive movements
     
  • Are recovering from injury or managing chronic tension (with medical clearance)
     
  • Are new to Feldenkrais or returning to refresh foundational awareness
     

No prior experience with Feldenkrais or movement practices is required. Movements are gentle and adaptable for a wide range of bodies and abilities.

WHAT IS THE FELDENKRAIS® METHOD?

The Feldenkrais® Method is an educational approach to movement and awareness developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais. It is based on the idea that by improving how we move, we can improve how we feel, function, and respond to life.


In Awareness Through Movement® lessons, participants are verbally guided through gentle movement sequences that support:


  • improved coordination and balance
     
  • reduced strain and unnecessary effort
     
  • greater comfort and ease in everyday actions


Rather than correcting or pushing the body, Feldenkrais emphasizes curiosity, sensing, and learning — allowing changes to emerge naturally.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS SERIES?

Each class is approximately 45-60 minutes and is taught verbally, without demonstration. Movements are slow, gentle, and exploratory.


  • Most lessons are done lying on the floor on a thick blanket
     
  • You are encouraged to rest at any time and move within your own comfort
     
  • There is no “right” way to do the movements
     
  • The focus is on awareness, not effort
     

Because this is a series, participants often notice changes unfolding gradually over the weeks — in posture, breathing, coordination, and overall ease of movement.
